One-off Rescue Audit — €99

Your last developer left a mess. Get a second opinion before you commit again.

A Loom walkthrough and scope plan PDF — what went wrong, what's salvageable, and what a proper fix looks like — delivered within 3 working days.

€99 once. If you hire me afterwards, it comes off your invoice.

What it is.
A one-off manual audit for sites built by a previous developer that didn't go as planned. I review what you have, assess what went wrong, and tell you honestly whether to salvage or rebuild — with a recorded Loom walkthrough and a scope plan PDF.
Who it's for.
Business owners who paid a developer — on Bark.com, Fiverr, or anywhere else — and the result wasn't what was agreed. You're not sure what you have, what it's worth saving, or what it would cost to start over properly.
What you'll get.
A Loom video walkthrough (10–15 min) and a PDF: verdict, prioritised issues, honest rebuild-vs-rescue recommendation, and a price estimate for next steps.
How long it takes.
Within 3 working days of payment. Every audit is done personally — not automated.

What's in your second opinion

Honest answers. No upsell pressure.

The Verdict

An honest assessment of what you've got, what's salvageable, and whether a rebuild is the right call — in plain English, no waffle.

Issues Found

Ranked by impact. Each with: what went wrong, what you can do today, and what a proper fix looks like.

Loom Walkthrough

A recorded 10–15 minute video walking through the site and the audit findings. Easier to share, easier to reference.

Scope Plan PDF

A written scope of what a rescue or rebuild would involve — what's included, what's not, and a price estimate.

No Pressure. No Commitment.

The audit is the product. You don't have to hire me. But if you do, the €99 comes off your first invoice.

The Verdict

The site was delivered half-finished. Core pages are missing, the contact form doesn't send, and the domain still points to the developer's staging server. Salvageable with access to the hosting account — but only worth salvaging if the underlying platform fits your goals.

Issues Found

high·Domain not transferred — developer controls the site

The domain registrar account is in the developer's name. You can't make changes, renew the domain, or move hosting without their co-operation.

Fix today

Email the developer formally requesting a domain transfer. Keep a written record. If they don't respond within 7 days, escalate to your registrar's dispute process.

The proper fix

All new builds include domain transfer to a registrar account you own before any work begins.

high·Contact form silently fails — no emails sent

The contact form appears to submit but no emails arrive. The SMTP credentials were never configured on the hosting plan.

Fix today

Log in to your hosting cPanel and configure the email plugin with your hosting SMTP settings — most hosts have a guide for this.

The proper fix

A server action with Resend for transactional email — no SMTP config, no deliverability surprises.

high·Site loads from staging URL — not your domain

Visiting yoursite.ie redirects to developer-staging.wpengine.com. Google is indexing the staging URL, not yours.

Fix today

Contact your hosting provider directly — explain you've lost contact with your developer and need the domain pointed to the hosting account.

The proper fix

DNS is configured during handoff and tested before launch. You receive full access credentials on day one.

medium·Three pages listed in the nav return 404

Services, Gallery, and Testimonials are linked in the navigation but the pages were never built.

Fix today

Remove the broken links from the nav in your WordPress menu settings to stop visitors hitting dead ends.

The proper fix

Scope is locked before payment. Pages listed in the brief are delivered or the build doesn't close.

low·No SSL certificate — site shows 'Not Secure'

The site is served over HTTP. Browsers flag it as not secure and Google penalises it in rankings.

Fix today

Log in to your hosting control panel and enable the free Let's Encrypt SSL certificate — most hosts offer one-click installation.

The proper fix

SSL is configured and forced during setup. Non-negotiable baseline.

Recommendation

The platform (WordPress + Elementor) is functional for your use case. The problems are not the CMS — they're incomplete setup and no access handoff. Recommend: recover hosting access, fix the domain and SSL, and either complete the missing pages yourself or scope a targeted rescue rather than a full rebuild.

Next step: Request a domain transfer in writing today and forward the response to me.

Common questions

How is this different from The Diagnosis?

The Diagnosis is a general site review for any live site. The Second Opinion is specifically for people who've been burned by a previous developer — it focuses on what went wrong, whether the work is salvageable, and what it would take to fix it properly.

Will you take over the work?

Only if it makes sense after the audit. The Second Opinion is a standalone product — you'll have a clear picture of your options regardless of whether you hire me. If you do want to proceed, the €99 comes off your first invoice.

What if my old developer won't hand over the code?

I'll cover this in the audit. There are legitimate routes — hosting panel access, domain transfers, Bark.com dispute processes, chargeback via your bank, and in some cases Irish small claims. I'll tell you which applies to your situation.

Can you work with WordPress / Wix / Squarespace?

Yes. I can review any live site regardless of how it was built. The audit assesses what you have now — the rebuild recommendation will be honest about whether the platform is part of the problem.

Do I have to commit to a rebuild?

No. The audit is the product. You'll leave with a clear picture of your options and you can do whatever you want with it.

Refund policy?

If I can't access your site or complete the audit for any reason, you get a full refund. Once the Loom and PDF are delivered, the fee is non-refundable — the work is done.
