Ongoing Maintenance — €500/month
The website care plan for solopreneurs who never want to think about the tech again.
I host your site, keep it patched, run backups, fix bugs, and make small edits — every month, on a flat fee.
€500/month. Cancel any time. No minimum term.
What it is.
A monthly subscription that keeps your live website healthy — hosting, security updates, backups, edits, and bug fixes — handled by one person.
Who it's for.
Solopreneurs whose Nerd Prescribed website is already live and who would rather pay a flat monthly fee than learn DevOps.
What it costs.
€500/month, billed via Stripe. No setup fee. Cancel any time. No minimum term. Prices ex-VAT; Irish VAT (23%) applies to clients based in Ireland.
How it works.
I monitor the site, ship updates as they're needed, and respond to your edit requests inside one business day.
On a quiet month
Everything still moves in the background.
Always running in the background
- Hosting on Vercel (paid out of the fee)
- Daily database backups, retained 30 days
- Weekly dependency security audit and patch
- Uptime monitoring with on-call response
- SSL certificate renewal
- Monthly Lighthouse / Core Web Vitals check
On demand, no extra invoice
- Up to 2 hours of small edits per month (copy tweaks, image swaps, new section blocks, contact form changes)
- Bug fixes — no time cap
- Stripe / form / email integration repair when a third party breaks
- Annual content review with a written summary
Heavier work — a new page, a new feature, a redesign — is scoped separately as a one-off project. The fee covers maintenance, not new builds.
Compared side by side
Care plan vs hosting alone
| Concern | Just hosting | Care plan |
|---|---|---|
| Server costs | ~€20/mo on a free or hobby tier | Included — I pay for the hosting |
| Security patches to your code | You — Next.js, Tailwind, every npm package | I run npm audit weekly and apply fixes |
| Database backups | DIY or paid add-on | Daily, retained 30 days |
| Bug fixes | A separate freelancer engagement | Included, no hourly meter |
| Small content edits | You log in (if you have a CMS) or DIY | I do them, ~24h turnaround |
| Stripe / API breakage | You debug it | I debug it |
| Someone who knows your codebase | Nobody | The person who built it |
| Single contact | Vercel support + your dev + your designer | Me |
Vercel hosting alone is great infrastructure. The care plan is the human layer on top — the person who knows your code and answers when something breaks.
How leaving works
Cancel any time. No exit fee. No drama.
You own the site outright. The care plan is a service contract on top — not a hostage situation.
- 1
Cancel any time
One email or one click in Stripe. The subscription stops at the end of the current billing period.
- 2
Source code handover
I push the full repo to a GitHub account in your name and add you as the owner.
- 3
Hosting handover
I transfer the Vercel project to your team, or help you migrate to Netlify, Cloudflare, or your own server. Takes about 30 minutes.
- 4
Domain handover
Your domain stays in your registrar account (it always was) — I just remove my DNS access.
- 5
Database export
Final pg_dump of your Postgres database plus credentials for any third parties (Stripe, Resend, etc.).
- 6
No exit fee. No data held back. No drama.
The handover packet is documented and tested — I run through it with every client who leaves, even though so far nobody has.
Common questions
What if my site is quiet and I barely need anything?
That's normal. Most months are quiet. You're paying for the safety net — patches, backups, monitoring, and someone who answers when something breaks. The flat fee means I'm not penalised for a quiet month and you're not surprised by an invoice on a busy one. It's the peace-of-mind layer behind the site.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes — any time, no questions asked. There's no minimum term on the care plans.
How is this different from just paying for hosting?
Hosting is infrastructure — a server, a CDN, a database. The care plan is the person who knows your code: the one who patches it, fixes it when it breaks, and makes the edits you ask for. Vercel does not know your stack. I do.
What happens to my site if I leave?
You own the site outright. I'll hand over everything you need to host it yourself or with another provider — the full source code, hosting transfer, domain access, database export, and credentials for any third parties. No exit fee. No data held back.
How quickly do you respond?
Edit requests inside one business day, usually faster. Emergency fixes (site down, payment broken) inside a couple of hours during European working hours.
Do I need a Nerd Prescribed-built site to subscribe?
Yes, for now. The care plan covers sites I built or sites I've audited and adopted. If you have an existing site you'd like me to take over, message me first and we'll scope the audit.
